Avignon airport is located about 10km (fifteen minutes) from the town centre. just off the national road RN 7 and less than 2km away from the A7 Autoroute (Motorway), where you exit at Avignon Sud. Once you leave the Autoroute just follow the signs to the airport.

Avignon is a very small airport, but it is modern and very clean and tidy - a good place to fly into and from.

All four car rental desks are in the main terminal building just opposite the baggage reclaim carousels. When you've signed all your paperwork for your hire car it's just a short walk out of the terminal building to the rental car car park. I'd say less than 100 metres.

Avignon airport arrivals are in the main terminal building. It is such a small place that you won't be able to get lost.

You come through passport control into the main terminal hall where you'll see the small baggage reclaim carousels. From here it is just a few steps to the main arrivals hall exit and out into the car park opposite.

Avignon airport departures are just inside the main entrance of the terminal building.

As you walk in to the airport you will see the check in desks right in front of you. Make sure you give yourself enough time to be able to check in and then relax and have a drink or snack in the bar before you fly.

You can get an Avignon airport taxi very easily from the rank just outside the terminal building. French taxis are all metered so you do not have to worry about the driver conjuring up a price out of thin air .They are usually modern cars and the drivers tend to keep them very clean.

The journey into the centre of town is about 10 km and should take about 15 minutes. The cost of this journey is approximately €25.

Unfortunately there are no bus or coach services from Avignon airport.

TCRA operates buses around the city on Avenue de Lattre de Tassigny. The office is open Monday-Friday 08:30-12:30 & 13:30-18:00. Tickets cost €1.20 (sold on the bus) and a book of 10 costs €9.50. Therefore you'll have to rely on taxis or friends to collect you. Unless of course you are going to arrange car hire from Avignon Airport for your visit.

Avignon Airport car parking is situated directly in front of the airport terminal. It is close enough that you will not have to worry too much if you have got a lot of luggage or have mobility problems.

The distance from the car park to the doors to the terminal is about fifty metres and it is all flat ground with concrete underfoot.

Restaurant options at Avignon airport are pretty limited due to the size of the airport.

Le Petit Prince bar/cafe is located at one end of the terminal building (on the left hand side if entering from the car park). They sell light meals, snacks and drinks and it is a good place to sit and relax before your flight is called, with tables and chairs overlooking the tarmac.

In addition to this there are two vending machines with one selling canned drinks and chocolate and the other dispensing coffee.

There is also a popular aero club at Avignon Airport with Les Ailes Blanches bar/restaurant.

If you want a more substantial meal before you fly or when you arrive, there is a Courte Paille Restaurant just as you leave the airport complex. This is part of a steak house chain where you normally get a pretty good meal. It also has tables and chairs outside so you can soak up the last of the summer sun before you fly home.
