Information
Avignon airport is located just off the A7 motorway, about 10 km
(fifteen minutes) from the town centre.
It's a tiny little airport. Probably the smallest I've been to. I'm sure that if I stood at one end of the terminal building I'd be able to throw a tennis ball all the way to the other end. That's how small it is.
Having said that. It's quite a smart little airport. Pretty modern, very neat and tidy, and a nice place to fly into.
Avignon Airport Car Hire
There
are four car rental firms with desks in the airport itself. For the best deals on car hire at Avignon and for a free online quote check out Cartrawler who are a company with a central database of local car hire firms against which they can match your requirements and provide a free online and very competitive quote.
The four car hire companies with desks at the airport are: Avis at Avignon Airport - Europcar at Avignon Airport - Hertz at Avignon Airport and National at Avignon Airport .All four car rental desks are in the main terminal building just opposite the baggage reclaim carousels. When you've signed all your paperwork for your hire car it's just a short walk out of the terminal building to the rental car car park. I'd say less than 100 metres.
We have also written an article on car hire in Avignon which we hope you will find of interest.

Avignon Airport car parking is situated directly in front of the airport
terminal. It's close enough that you won't have to worry too much
if you've got a lot of luggage or have mobility problems.
The distance from the car park to the doors to the terminal is about fifty metres and it's all flat ground with concrete under foot.

Avignon Airport Restaurants
Restaurant
options at Avignon airport are pretty limited due to the size of the
airport.
Basically there's one bar/cafe located at one end of the terminal building. They do basic meals during the week but not at weekends.
It's actually a pretty nice place to sit and relax before your flight is called, with tables and chairs overlooking the tarmac.
In addition to the bar, there are two vending machines. One selling canned drinks and chocolate, the other selling coffee.
If you want a more substantial meal before you fly or when you arrive, there's a Courtepaille restaurant just as you leave the airport complex. This is basically a steak house chain where you normally get a pretty good meat.
It also has tables and chairs outside so you can soak up the last of the summer sun before you fly home.
