The Town Of Valras Plage In The Languedoc
Valras-Plage is an unspoilt holiday destination with over four kilometers of golden sandy beaches between Montpellier and Perpignan on the French Mediterranean Coast. It is a beautiful and relaxing resort surrounded by countryside with rolling hills covered with vineyards.
There are a wide variety of activities to keep every member of the family occupied at Valras-Plage including sailing and sailing schools, windsurfing, fishing, jet ski, diving, water skiing, deep sea fishing and excursions out to sea along the coastline. Activities in the surrounding area of the Herault include visits to the wineries, tennis, mountain bike trails, hiking, go-carting, horse riding, mini golf, fitness studios, canoeing and kayaking. The younger members of the family have beach clubs, leisure centres, fairgrounds, a Farm Zoo and Aqua Land to keep them busy.
Valras-Plage was originally a fishing village, and still has a daily fish market where the fresh catch is sold by the fishermen from their trawlers. All over this part of France there are open and covered markets and antique shops. The section on Languedoc Markets gives a full list for the area, together with the days they are held. The area is full of vineyards which you can visit, sample the wine and buy directly from the growers.
If you enjoy gambling, then you should pay a visit to the new Casino on the edge of the beach which has an excellent restaurant, gaming tables and slot machines.
