Beziers Information

Beziers Airport InformationBéziers is known for two things in particular: wine and bullflighting. The best time to visit this town is during the four day feria in mid August when you can sample them both.

Béziers is perfectly situated for excursions into the Haut Languedoc which is a wild and rugged mountainous region full of picturesque stone villages and mountain streams.

The main tourist attraction in Beziers itself is the Romanesque Cathédrale St-Nazaire which dates from the thirteenth century and occupies one of the best sites in town

The Musée des Beaux Arts features paintings by Rubens and Delacroix as well as several local artists.

You can hire a car from Beziers Airport and explore this beautiful region of France including the Canal du Midi which is west of Beziers and connects Sète on the Mediterranean with Toulouse. It runs through a series of lovely old villages and you can your trip west at the seven locks of Ecluses de Fonséranes reached along the N113 from Béziers. Or you can drive to the village of Roguebrun in the Orb valley which literally clings to the cliff face above the river and is about 20km north of Béziers. The vines here do particularly well and wine can be sampled at several local outlets.
