Wines of Chateau Du Donjon
The Chateau Du Donjon has been
in the Panis-Mialhe family since the 15th Century. It takes it's name from the old castle at Bagnoles,
a small village on the western edge of the minervoise, and from the attractive
"Donjon" (fortified main tower of a castle) which reared up in the
middle of the cellars.
Lying just north of Carcassonne in the heart of the languedoc Roussillon, the Chateau sits in the belt occupied by some of the best wine domaines of languedoc.
The monks of Caunes Minervois Abbey, the founders of the estate, already used the vaulted cellars which are ideal for oak ageing wine.
The vieyards of the Chateau Du Donjon in the terroir (region) of the Clamoux, are influenced not only by the Mediteranean, but also by the oceanic climate. This double influence produces perfectly balanced languedoc wines.
The owners Caroline and Jean are happy to welcome you to the Chateau to enable you to discover and share in their passion.
Tastings are available Monday -Friday from 9am - 7pm and also by appointment.
